Jubilee MPs given KES 1 million to dump Waiguru motion, says Keter

Nairobi - MPs have been bribed as much as KES 1 million to not vote for the impeachment of Devolution CS Anne Waiguru, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has said.
Keter's motion to have Waiguru kicked out of office for her role in the loss of KES 791 million at the National Youth Service NYS failed Thursday after the required number of signatures to have it pull through for reading on the floor of the house were not achieved.
According to Speaker Justin Muturi, the motion fell 8 signatures short.
Speaking after the news was announced, Keter admitted that 17 MPs had removed their signatures in the last few days and that most of them had been bribed as much as KES 1 million to do so.
" 17 MPs removed their signatures in the last few days and I know why," he told News24.
" They were bribed and I have evidence. They were handed as much as 1 million to withdraw their support which is unfortunate as they are protecting corruption and graft in the country," he added.
There was no word yet on who exactly withdrew their signatures but it is understood that some from the URP faction of the Jubilee Coalition did.
