Nairobi - A journalist has been arrested for allegedly insulting Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando on Facebook.
Standard Group journalist Wahome Thuku was arrested Tuesday after claims
that he defamed Kabando on social media site Facebook.
The journalist, who reports on court matters for The Standard newspaper, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and put at Parliament Police station.
" I have been arrested by two CID officers who have taken my phone. I have been sent to Parliament Police Station," the journalist tweeted his ordeal.
The move attracted social media attention for the reporter, with varying views on his ordeal.
He is the fourth social media personality to be taken in for questioning by police over such matters, with bloggers Allan Wadi and Robert Alai having also been on the wrong side of the law over similar matters.
