14 August 2014, 14:26 Nechesa Chemoi

Nairobi - The Jamia Mosque Education Fund Thursday received KES 100,000 donation from Airtel Kenya to support its education welfare.

Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi gave the donation to a delegation of the Mosque’s leaders who visited him at his office.

Jamia Mosque Chairman Sheikh Mohammed Osman Warfa thanked Airtel for its support saying it will go a long way in supporting the Mosque’s goal of educational support to the needy among the Muslim community.

On his part, Youssefi expressed the company’s appreciation for their visit and commended the Mosque for the good work that it has been doing through the community welfare programmes in education and medical relief.

He also briefed the delegation on Airtel’s CSR policy of empowering communities through initiatives in education, health and the environment.
He explained that Airtel identifies education as a very important area that helps in the realization of individual and collective dreams and the development of the community.

“Airtel will continue to work with the community, government agencies as well as our partners to supplement government efforts to ensure that more and more children are educated," Adil said.
