Jakakimba: ODM paying the price of being undemocratic

Homa Bay - The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is paying the price of being undemocratic following the chaos that marred a campaign rally for its candidate in the Homa Bay senatorial by-elections on Sunday.
According to Silas Jakakimba who is vying for the same seat on united Democratic (UDM) party ticket, ODM is likely to face more rebellion from the people of Homa Bay for what he claims they were denied a chance to pick a candidate of their choice.
Speaking in Homa Bay town on Sunday, the former aide to Raila Odinga said that ODM should preach water and take water instead of preaching water and taking wine.
“As a party, you cannot be going around lecturing everyone about democracy while at the same time you cannot allow the same democracy to take root in your party.ODM will pay the price for being unfair during the nomination and trying to force a candidate on the people of Homa Bay. The day will come when they will be ashamed at the ballot and they will realize that things are no longer the same,” said Jakakimba.
