Nairobi - Musician Jaguar is now happy at anti-drugs authority NACADA, a few days after threatening to quit the body.
Days after news came out that influential Kenyan rapper
Jaguar was planning to leave drug and alcohol regulation organization NACADA,
the rapper has come out to show his pleasure on the immediate actions that were
taken due to his threats.
He planned to leave the organization sighting
corruption as the cause of the ineffective nature of the organization. He
claimed that his efforts to help the more than 2.6 million addicts in the
country were hindered by corrupt individuals within the organization.
Taking these claims seriously, the C.S Nkaissery promised
the artist that the organization would be looked into and these corrupt
individuals rooted out. Jaguar expressed his support for this move through a
post on his social media page.
“That’s all I was asking for...I can't
stay in an office where people trusted with public money loot and do nothing
for the community... Ahsante Waziri (Thank you Minister) Nkaissery for the quick
response and assurance that investigation will be done and those caught will be
prosecuted... it’s true we fighting the same battle... Corruption, he added”.
