A father of seven children was today sentenced a six months imprisonment or a fine of 40,000 for insulting and threatening his mother and sister in Kieniwest, Nyeri County.

Zachary Karuru Rukwaro, who was today presented before Senior Resident Magistrate Joan Wambilyanga charged with calling his mother Charity Wangechi and his sister Pauline Wambui prostitutes after they failed to give him money on March 3.

The court heard that the mother was going home from church when she accosted him on the way and he demanded to be given Sh. 3000 but his mother declined telling him she did not have the money

The accused apparently got angry, and started insulting her. His sister heard a confrontation, went to check what was happening and foundhis brother calling their mother all sorts of names and when she inquired what was wrong, the accused turned on her and insulted the pair prostitutes.

He then rushed home and came with a machete, and threatened to slash them and burn their houses down.
Wambilyanga said that the man deserves such a sentence  behind bars to serve as a warning to other people with such uncoming behaviors.
