In his memory: E-sir tribute on the way

Nairobi - Every time the name E-sir is spoken, it brings a tear to my
eye, not from the pain of his loss, but from the joy of the music he brought to
us before his untimely demise.
Born May 20 1981, the rapper
started his career by dropping one of his largest hits titled “Jo”, done in the
same style as Black Rob’s “Whoa”.
He soon after released his first and only
album called “Nimefika” in 2003 before passing on the same year in a tragic
road accident along the Nakuru - Nairobi highway on March 16. He
won in four categories at the Kisima awards 2003 for hits such as “Mos Mos”,
“Boomba Train”, “Hamunitishi” and “Leo ni Leo”.
It is in the light of the fact that the music industry lost
a truly great rapper that some of his fellow artists and family are coming
together on April 2, 2014 at the Carnivore, to celebrate his life
and works. The event organized by Bigpin, one of his closest friends, is set to
feature artists like Nameless, Habib, Manga, Mr Lenny and Talia, just to name a
According to Bigpin, the event is meant to be a “personal”
event for his fans and family to come together and celebrate him. “It isn’t
meant to be over hyped because it will be a very heart to heart event and we
invite friends and fans to come attend with us. This is the first event that we
have done for him. Before this we just had a small family session” said Bigpin
in an interview.
More about the event will be released as we move closer to
the date, but this goes without saying, this is one event to attend.
