I’m ready to testify for Ruto at ICC, declares Oburu

Nairobi – ODM nominated MP, Oburu Oginga has said that he is ready to travel to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to testify for the Deputy President, William Ruto.
Oburu, who hit back at a section of Jubilee legislators including the National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale for telling him to keep off the ICC issue, maintained that Ruto is innocent and his testimony could help rescue the Deputy President.
“I am still prepared to travel to The Hague and give evidence to support Ruto. This noisemaker Duale playing politics with the ICC issue cannot tell me that my testimony is useless,” said Oburu.
“I will only back out of this matter if Ruto himself tells me that he does not need my testimony,” he added.

Oburu, who is also the elder brother of the CORD leader Raila Odinga, pointed out that he never heard Ruto plan or contribute in the 2007/08 post-election violence when he was in ODM as claimed by some ICC witnesses.
He backed Raila for naming close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he believes fixed Ruto at the ICC.
He wondered why Kenyatta has remained silent on the matter despite the Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria’s confession that he was among individuals who fixed Ruto.
Kuria is set to meet the ICC prosecutions team on Wednesday for interrogation regarding his claims and for consideration to testify at The Hague.
This comes after a similar meeting Monday that gave Kuria the go ahead to testify at the Court.
