Nairobi - The annual Idd Ul Fitr holiday to signify the end of the Islamic fast will take place Saturday 18 July, the government has said.
" It is notified for general information that Saturday, 18th July,
2015, will be observed as a public holiday to mark Idd-Ul-Fitr day," a Gazette notice from Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery says.
Idd is celebrated after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The holy month kicked off 18 June, 2015 and was characterized by threats from terrorists to attack the country.
Some attacks have taken place in the north of the country since the threat by the Al Shabaab militia group, with 14 people confirmed dead.
