I will not retire, Rawal now says

Nairobi - Deputy Chief Justice Kalpana Rawal says she will not retire from office despite being issued with a notice and her position advertised.
Rawal moved to court Monday to contest the move to retire her by the Judiciary Service Commision JSC.
In an application placed by lawyer George Oraro, Rawal said that she was set to retire at age 74 and not her current 70.
" She was appointed under the old constitution which said she retires at age 74 and thus cannot be told to retire now," he said.
Rawal will officially retire, according to the JSC January 2016.
Chief Justice Willy Mutunga is also earmarked to leave office at the beginning of 2017.
