Nairobi - Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru has rubbished claims that she is planning to enter into the political arena come 2017.
The CS said she has never liked politics and will never vie for any political seat in Kenya amid speculations that Jubilee was grooming her to vie for the Nairobi Governor’s post come 2017.
“I do not have any political ambition simply because I am a technocrat,” Waiguru said during an interview on one of the local TV stations.
She revealed that she never dreamt of becoming a minister because by then, ministers were also politicians.

“I only wanted to be a Permanent Secretary and not a minister because of politics. I accepted the CS post because the constitution was changed and politicians were not required to be ministers,” Waiguru said.
The CS also refuted claims by the opposition that the National Youth Service (NYS) is a government militia.
“NYS was rebranded to recapture the Kenyan youth to be patriotic and also empower them. It cannot and it will never be a militia group.
“We recruit same number of youths from every constituency in Kenya,” the CS added.
