I am still young for presidency, Raila insists

Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga says that he is still young enough to contest the presidency.
Raila says that despite his age, he is still the best man to cure Kenya's perennial problems and that his detractors who say he is now an old man have got it wrong.
" When Nelson Mandela came from prison he was 72 but he still went ahead
to lead the anti-apartheid government in South Africa, he stated.
" A few years ago I was
young turk and we have seen the current young turks as well. But whether
young or old a turk all the same," he added.
Raila was speaking during the launch of an SMS service in which he expects to ease communication with his supporters in the lead up to the 2017 General Elections.
The short code for the sms service is 20217 and is dubbed Raila connect.
Leaders in the ruling Jubilee coalition have mocked Raila for being over 60 years of age and have even tried to enact legislation to have a presidential age limit.
Raila though is still looking forward and plans are already underway for his presidential bid come 2017.
