Kampala - A woman who did not vote for her husband in the ongoing Uganda's ruling party primaries elections got a rare treat after her husband and mother-in-law beat her into a comma.
Ceasar Opoka lost to Emamnuel Oryema by over 500 votes. As he was still shocked at the loss, he saw his wife, Molly Abur celebrating with his opponents' win, a few minutes after the results were announced.
On inquiring from his wife's friends, he learnt that she had voted for his opponent.
He waited for her at home and immediately pounced on her the moment she got back, beating her thoroughly with the help of his mother until she went into a comma.
When she recovered, she went to the police to report the assault.
''We have arrested her husband after she reported an assualt case against him. Her mother- in- law is on the run but we are hunting for her," said Kitigum police commander, Patrick Okello.
He warned politicians against beating their family members who do not support them politically. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
