Nakuru - Police in Nakuru are searching for a house girl who is said to have disappeared with her employer's 11-month-old baby on Tuesday.
Monica Gathai, a computer teacher and a mother of three children said she arrived home at around 1pm and found the baby missing.
"I asked the children where the baby was and was told the house girl had gone out with her,” Gathai said.
She said the girl named Sharyl Atieno was introduced to her by her close neighbours when she asked them for a house help, and they have never had any differences.
According to her, the 18-year-old girl hails from Uguja in Nyanza, and had stayed with her for fourteen days.
She reported the matter to Bondeni police station and was advised to seek help from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters.
“On arriving at the CID headquarters, they tracked the girl through her phone, with the signal indicating that she was in Nyahururu,” she said.
Atieno's aunt Emily Indeche described her as a humble and polite girl who had no bad reputation or criminal record.
Indeche, said she went to Ugunja in December 2013 and met Atieno who requested her to assist her to get a job in Nakuru.
