High performers in Nandi to receive laptops, smartphones

04 March 2014, 16:53 Kimutai Langat

Nairobi - Nandi county Governor, Cleophas Lagat has said that his government will give laptops, smartphones and other goodies to the candidates who scored highly in 2013 KCSE exams in the county to inspire others to work hard in their studies.
Reacting to the good performance posted by Kapsabet Boys High school, Lagat noted that respective teachers will also be awarded as a way of congratulating them for work well done.
“As a government, we shall give laptops, phones and other goodies to candidates who got clean A’s. This is our pledge and we must fulfill it,” said the elated Governor.
He also expressed joy over the county’s performance which put it fourth nationally and thanked stakeholders for their hard work and cooperation that made the school to shine.
“I also take this opportunity to thank teachers, students and other stakeholders who enabled our county to be ranked fourth countrywide. Our focus now is to perform even better next year,” noted Lagat.
As the students celebrated their win, learning in the institution was interrupted for several hours at Terige Boys’ Secondary school in the county after students went on rampage demanding the transfer of their Principal over poor performance by the school in last year’s KCSE.
