'Here I am to Worship', the Kenyan version

Nairobi - Though this isn’t an entirely new song, it is a pretty good
take on the original song titled “Light of the World (Here I am to Worship)”
composed in 1873 by Arthur Sullivan.
It is what local musician Gerriey Wainaina refers to as a
“Africanised” version of this all so beautiful worship song loved and
appreciated across the world.
It is always hard to make a really loved song better, but I
can confidently say that Gerriey and his band have managed to pull it off. The
track is captivating with a very distinct African feel to it, more precisely
Kenyan. It integrates a modernized tune to what is traditionally a very simple
worship song and makes it amazing.
The video isn’t left too far behind either. It features
children playing instruments for the song, and gives it a very cool and
innocent feel to it. The children are, according to Gerriey, some of his music
students who he decided to feature in his performance.
