Hate speech monger Kuria going to jail?
17 February 2015, 15:30
Nairobi - Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria might end up in jail after the office of the director of public prosecutions DPP said his bail terms should be ended after dishonouring an out of court settlement.
Kuria had been set for an out of court settlement with the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC over hate speech but he broke the agreement after once again being caught on record spreading hateful comments.
According to the DPP, the MP has broken the trust that the law had given him and he might need to answer to the charges.
In that regard, he might be denied bail and thus spend some time in jail.
Kuria has been caught up in issues of hate speech on several occasions, but has so far managed to evade jail time or prosecution.
The EACC said after ending its conciliation efforts with Kuria that they felt that he was not remorseful for what he had done before and needed to be punished.
