Nairobi - A squad of 22 local based players has been named by the Harambee Stars technical Bench to prepare for the June assisgnments of the national team.
According to Assistant Coach Yussuf Chippo who named the squad, head coach Francis Kimanzi will name the foreign based players once he jets back from Egypt as he is still in negotiations with some of them.
The squad will get into camp on Sunday evening and training will start on Monday morning.
Kenya opens its Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign against Malawi at home on June 2nd and travel away to Namibia On 9th June. A week later, they travel to Lome for the return leg of the 2013 CAF Cup of Nations against Togo.
Kenya has to win the tie against Togo to ensure they progress to the last phase of qualification. The first leg in Nairobi in March ended 2-1 in favor of the Harambee Stars.
