HIV/AIDs infections on the rise

According to surveys in the Coast province,there has been an upward trajectory in the HIV/AIDS infection.
The District health officer in Mombasa Dr Anissa Omar has a reported a fight against this deadly disease.
Anisa noted that,HIV/AIDS is a reality in Mombasa Kenya.she further estimated that the prevalence rate in Mombasa to be
greater than 20% of the adult population.
In addition,statistics show HIV prevalence to be increasing in Mombasa from 10% of the youths in the current past years.Anisa attributed this high rate to factors as drug abuse and sex businesses.
In order to effectively wipe out this infection,she urged the Kenyan to avoid discrimination and stigma on the victims.
She further urged for a support by family members on the victims in conjunction with associations dealing with health and hygiene of the victims in the district.
In the same district the health officer Mohamed Masud has urged the residents to be patient with those concerned with net distribution programme.
This is in a bid to curb spread of Malaria with support from the government and other health organisation .
According to Mohamed,the programme was still on the only challenge being non clearance of the nets from the Mombasa port
