Guard murdered by suspected Mungiki members

Nyeri - Police have launched investigation into the murder of a night guard by suspected members of the outlawed Mungiki sect in Mukururwe-ini, Nyeri County.
According to area Deputy County Commissioner, Isaac Masinde, the primary school guard was hacked to death while on duty last night.
Masinde said the deceased, identified as 50-year-old Bernard Warui Gitonga had his eyes gauged out by the assailants.
The armed gang attacked Gitonga at around 1.00am.

Masinde said they have already launched a manhunt for the suspects.
“They attackers did not steal anything during the attack," said the commissioner.
The body was taken to Mukurweini District Hospital Mortuary.
