Nairobi - A paralegal group has called for the prosecution of Imenti Central Member of Parliament Gideon Mwiti over the alleged rape of a woman at his office.
Paralegal Support Network (PASUNE), gave the Director of Public Prosecution a 24 hours ultimatum to take action against the MP, failure to which, they stage a nationwide protest to push for his prosecution.
In a statement signed by PASUNE coordinator Bernard Atambo, the organization termed the MP's act as shameful and beastly and warned against any attempt to shield him from prosecution.
“We have given the DPP Keriako Tobiko 24 hours to prosecute Mwiti failure to which we will take to the streets across the country to demand for the arrest and trial of the MP,” the group said.
The group claimed that there are attempts by certain forces to protect the MP from prosecution and warned that such move will face the wrath of Kenyans.
PASUNE at the same time urged the Kenya Medical and Dentists Practitioners Board to punish the doctor implicated in the forced blood test of the woman who was allegedly raped by the MP.
