Groove awards: Full list of winners

03 June 2014, 16:37 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi - The Groove awards are Kenya’s way of thanking and rewarding the best of talent in the gospel music industry for exceptional talent and skill.

This year’s awards which have just concluded featured some of the fairest judging in the various categories. Though some of the artists are already very well known in the industry, most of the artists are upcoming talents, and their winning in these awards show a stride in the right direction in music.

In the past, Kenyan awards shows have been marred with allegations of bias towards the already established, household names, leaving the artists trying to come up in the industry with no room for progression. The move by Willy Paul and Gloria Muliro to not participate in the occasion heralded the beginning of change, as they wanted to give the other artists a chance to also be recognized.
