Jane Wairimu had a reason to smile as she marked her 113th birthday in Lanet Nakuru, in a world where living beyond the age of 40 still remains a dream due to poor feeding habits and illness.
The mother of seven was joined by her relatives to mark her birthday in a party crowned by a mouthwatering cake.
Addressing the media on Monday, Wairimu said that she owes her strength to God considering that at the age of 113, she is well unlike many people who have to struggle with age-related illnesses.
Relatives said that they cherish the granny because she provides counsel when needed, adding that she remains a role model for most of their young children.
They were however perturbed by one of her granny children who went missing 29 years ago.
Njuguna Gichamu said that Felista Muthoni left home for Loitoktok in 1984 but has never returned to date.
He said that Wairimu's only wish was that she meets Felista before age takes a toll on her.
He thanked God for his blessings and wished the granny more life.
