Kiambu - A group of university graduates in Kiambu County have asked government to fulfill its pledge of creating more job opportunities for the youth.
The graduates said there was need for the government to engage the youth in driving the country’s economy forward.
Led by Jane Wambui, the youths said the government should consider investing more in the youth for faster economic growth.
She complained that the government does not give many graduates jobs saying they do not have the required experience to do the job.

Wambui also faulted employers for insisting on experience to hire the youth and wondered how they could get the said experience without being exposed to the job market.
“Of all the jobs I have seen being advertised there is a minimum number of years that if you do not meet, then you do not qualify,” she noted.
The graduates lamented that they have not tasted the fruits of their education as they have not secured any jobs that matched their academic qualifications.
