Govt vows to recover guns stolen from slain offers in Baragoi

Nairobi - The government will soon embark on an operation to recover the guns that were stolen from police officers who were killed by bandits in Baragoi in November 2012.
Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery said they had located where the guns from the slain officers are, and they will get them soon.
“We have made progress in identifying where government guns stolen from slain officers in Baragoi are. We will get them,” Nkaissery said at a press briefing in Nairobi.

The CS said security officers are tasked with the responsibility of maintaining law and order, and no one should attack them.
Close to 40 police officers, some of them reservists were killed in an ambush by the bandits, who later stole their guns in November 2012.
The officers were carrying out an operation to recover stolen cattle from armed bandits.
