Govt to bury 5 accident victims

30 April 2013, 17:07 Steve Wambugu

The government through the Ministry of Special Programmes will meet the burial expenses for the five students of Nambale high school who lost their lives along the Nakuru - Marigat road following a fatal accident last Friday, Special Programmes Minister Andrew Mondoh has said.

“It is very sad that we lost these young boys. It is a great loss to our nation and that’s why we will meet all the cost of the burial,” he said.

Speaking in Nakuru on Monday after visiting other students who are admitted at the Nakuru General hospital, Mondoh said that the government will also cater for the hospital bills of all students who are still undergoing medical care.

Mondoh said that the government will also ensure that the school facilitates counseling sessions to the traumatized students who lost their friends in the accident.

Ths PS was accompanied Busia Senator Amos Wako, Nambale MP John Sakwa Bunyasi among others.

Wako thanked Nambale area education fraternity for responding with speed to the accident.

The school Principal Solomon Sisuma disputed earlier reports that only 25 students were accounted for, saying that all the 29 students were accounted for.
