Govt donates medicine worth KES 25M to Taita Taveta

Taita Taveta -Taita Taveta County have received a medical boost after the County government through the national government donated medicine worth 25 million that will be distributed to all clinics in the county.
Speaking during the launch, Taita Taveta Governor John Muruttu said the heath sector has enough funds to order for more drugs.
“We have had issues with our heath sector due to lack of enough medicine. This move will ensure that this county get enough drugs,” said Muruttu.
He said the medical supplies will be distributed to clinics Mwambirwa, Wesu, Wundanyi, Taveta, Mwatate and Voi.
He also issued a stern warning to clinical officer who engage in illegal sale of drugs in the clinics that they will be brought to book.
“Those who sell drugs meant to be distributed to the hospitals will be arrested and persecuted,” warned Muruttu.
He however urged the members of the pubic to play the watchdogs over health facilities and report all irregularities to the concerned authorities.
