Nairobi - Governors will meet in Nairobi to decide the fate of the planned referendum.
The meeting will be held in Nairobi Friday where Governors in support of the 'Pesa Mashinani' campaign will aim to convince those against it to join their cause.
Council of Governors chairman Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto will lead the meeting where he will seek to have those Governors dissenting join the bandwagon.
" We will meet Friday and talk about how to go about this matter because we all agree that we want increased funds for our people on the ground", he said.
A location for the meeting was not named and it is understood the main aim of the meeting will be to decide how to dissociate the 'Pesa Mashinani' campaign from CORD's 'Okoa Kenya'.
" The issue is that Jubilee governors are afraid of being called part of CORD's campaign and we want to look for a way around that", Ruto added.

Governors, especially those from Central Kenya have already said they will not join the referendum campaign, calling it underminign the current government.
Ruto though states that it is about the people.
" It is a people run agenda, not for the Governors. The people who elected us need more funds and that is what we are fronting, he added.
Also up for discussion will be methods to convince Members of County Assemblies MCA's to support their cause.
