Nyeri - Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua has lauded MPs for passing the new anti-terrorrism bill.
Gachagua said the passing of the bill was timely since President Uhuru Kenyatta will now have powers to fight insecurity in the country especially terrorists.
“The National Assembly has now strengthened powers for the President to fight terror gangs from all corners of this country. We the Governors are fully behind the MPs so that terrorists can be wiped out,” he said.
Gachagua said the country is tired of atrocities committed by terrorists as he lamented the loss of 20 lives from his County in the recent terror attack in Mandera.

The Governor spoke at Kamukunji stadium during Jamhuri Day celebrations. He was accompanied by his deputy, Samuel Wamathai and area County commissioner, Michael Ole Tialal.
He reiterated that the government should take war to its enemy and crash all the Al Shabaab members.
“Our greatest weapon in the war on terror is in standing up together and confronting the enemy together. We have to be extremely vigilant and report those bent on wreaking our peace and freedom to the security agencies. I call upon all the people of this County to report without fear or favour any suspicious activities,” said Governor Gachagua.
