Governor: We should not be victimized for juniors' mistakes

Nyeri - The county bosses should not be victimized for the mistakes of their juniors, Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua has said.
Gachagua said that county executives who do not uphold integrity in dispensing their duties should be held accountable and responsible instead of seeking overall clarifications from the governors.
“How do you sack a governor because a health worker in a certain Health Center somewhere in the county inflated the price of unga (maize flour) for the patients' supper?” the Governor posed.
He opined that the Senate needed to summon county executives instead of governors.
“In any case, never in the history of this country have we ever heard of parliament summoning the President for a misdeed in a Ministry,” Gachagua added.
However, in reference to the ousted Embu Governor Martin Wambora's saga, Gachagua said all institutions of the government must abide by the rule of law to prevent the country from sliding to anarchy.
He said no single institution should be allowed to choose which court orders to obey or to defy saying that granting such freedom to institutions is a recipe for chaos.
