Government urged to increase youth kitty

Kieni MP Mr. Nemesis Warugongo has urged the Government to increase the youth fund kitty to triple fold in a bid to enable them do meaningful economic enterprises.
Mr. Warugongo said the Government loan kitty which amounts to Sh. 50,000 in the phase I is too small for any youth to under-take profiteering income- generating activities.
Speaking during the public budget consultation forum held at Nyeri Municipal Town Hall over the week-end, the MP said the youth kitty should be tripled and be fitted in the annual budget 2012/13.
He said the rate of youth unemployment stand at 60% - 70% and an increment in the fund is a creation of job opportunities for them.
The legislator said the budget is no longer a mystery to the public and it is a problem –based, urging the government to focus on youth unemployment crisis by adding funding to their small business.
