The Head of Civil Service and Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia has assured Idps that the Government would ensure that all required social infrastructure were provided to make the families' lives comfortable.
He was speaking when the last batch of Idps were being resettled in a land bought for them by the government.
He said supplies to the local health center had been boosted and that the facility will also be given an ambulance for emergencies.
He added that a tractor will be given to the scheme to help the families break their new farms for agriculture while Ministry of Agriculture staff will also step in with farm inputs.
"We want to ensure that by next year you will not be depending on relief food", Mr. Kimemia said.
Public Works Assistant Minister Mwangi Kiunjuri asked the Government to find shs 70 million to boost the two local water scheme that he said needed to be expanded to serve the new settlers.
He added that in the long term, the government should be thinking of excavating three dams on the expansive farm that will provide water for irrigation and livestock during the long droughts experienced in the area.
The families will get a quarter acre to establish a homestead and another two acres elsewhere for farming.
