Nairobi - Defence PS Mutea Iringo bribed MPs to remove his name from a report probing corrupt deals in government, Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has said.
The Budalangi MP Thursday said that Iringo was the government official who bribed MPs who are members of the Public Accounts Committee to remove his name from a report probing corrupt deals.
Iringo is said to have bribed four MPs up-to KES 1.5 million each.
Ababu has already submitted a recording he says proves his allegations to Speaker Justin Muturi.
The MP told the Powers and Privileges Committee that he had nothing to hide and would be willing to produce more evidence to exonerate himself from corruption claims.
On asked of the allegations, Iringo claimed that Ababu was on a witch-hunt and that those claims are false and should be dismissed with immediate effect.
Ababu was accompanied Thursday by several MPs from western Kenya to the committee sitting.
