Government mourns Balala's late mother

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta paid homage to Mining Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala's mother who passed on Wednesday.
Rahma Binti Saleh died Wednesday after a short illness and was buried Thursday in Mombasa.
Uhuru was saddened by the demise of the mother of one of his close political allies and tough he did not attend the burial, he was able to send a message to the family of the deceased.
" I am saddened to hear of the death of a person very close to a good friend of mine, the statement said in part.
" Mama Rahma was a great lady, a loving mother, adored grandmother and a friend to many. Death has taken away a respected community leader, which is a huge loss, not only to her family but to the entire country," the statement continued.
The statement was read by Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale, who represented the executive.
Binti Saleh was buried at the Kikowani Cemetry.
Various leaders from across the political divide attended the burial.
