Gor Mahia’s matches will not be televised until a time such that they wil prove that they have completely stopped the vice of hooliganism. Starting with this Wednesday’s match against Rangers, Gor Mahia will miss the glares of the supersport cameras.
“There was a meeting on Tuesday between Supersport, The KPL and Gor Mahia. They all agreed that they are going to work to see that hooliganism is stopped. Gor Mahia was told to deal with their wayward fans and the meeting also agreed that Gor Mahia matches will not be screened until Supersport are convinced that they have done well in curbing hooliganism”, says Jack Oguda, the KPL Chief Executive Officer.
Gor Mahia fans went on the rampage on Sunday during their match against AFC leopards in Nairobi and the match was stopped for over 25 minutes with the ref waiting for the chaos to cool.
Gor fans had stopped the match and started throwing objects after the ref gave a straight red card to Ali Abondo for a dangerous tackle on Leopards’ Amon Muchiri.
