Nyeri - The Nyeri Golf Club has suffered a loss of more than KES 4 million following a fire incident on Thursday night.
The 11pm fire, which gutted down part of the store, destroyed machines including a new tractor worth over KES 2.2 million.
Grass cutter, mowers and other equipment were also destroyed.
The Golf Club chairman, Eddy Karumwa said some of the members who were in the club by the time, and a County fire brigade, helped to put off the fire.
Karumwa said the cause of the fire was not immediately established but investigations have kicked off.
Nobody was hurt during the incident at the private millionaire’s club situated in Nyeri town.
Karumwa, who was accompanied by his treasurer Edwin Nyuguto, said some golf sessions might be interrupted as they lost the equipment used by the golfers.
