Nakuru - Kuresoi south Member of Parliament, Zakayo Cheruiyot wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to endorse deputy president William Ruto for the 2017 presidential race in order to help end his case at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Cheruiyot argues that the presidency and power greatly influenced the termination of Uhuru’s case at The Hague and can also do the same for Ruto.
He said the President should be man enough to rule for five years and then back Ruto in 2017.
“If the President really loves Ruto and wants to keep the coalition intact then he should allow Ruto to vie for Presidency in 2017 because it is the easiest avenue for Ruto to get out of ICC.

“Uhuru should let Ruto to run in 2017 and after he clears his name, then in 2022 we can as well give the presidency back to Uhuru,” said Cheruiyot.
Speaking Wednesday in Kuresoi town, Cheruiyot said that the Kalenjin will consider Uhuru their hero if he takes that bold step to save their brother.
He added that Kenyans were ready to give Ruto the presidency if that is the only thing that will get him out of the ICC.
