Get good lawyers, ODM MP tells Raila 'haters'

26 August 2015, 18:28 William Korir

Nairobi - ODM MP Junet Mohammed has told those who have been insulting CORD leader Raila Odinga to prepare very good lawyers and meet in court.

He said that the number of insults that Raila had received especially from political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi were not to be taken lightly and motioned that the CORD coalition was looking to hit back over the manner in which Raila has been insulted.

In a number of tweets, Ngunyi called Raila the lord of poverty and said that he was the reason the Luo community is poor.

Mohammed said that the apology by Ngunyi at the last minute was also not enough to change the opinion of people of the Luo community over his back handed insults.

" Luo people take great exception to demeaning statements coming from well-known government quarters. This has been going on since the 1960s and must now stop," he said.

He also accused the government of killing off industries in the region, knowing all well that the region is suffering.

" If indeed we Luos are poor, we urge the government not to continue impoverishing us by destroying the few industries located in our region," he said.

Ngunyi has been attacking the CORD leader for a sustained period of time, calling him the reason for the region's downfall.

It is understood that the CORD leader will take to court to defend his pride and honour in the aftermath of the insulting comments.
