Garissa victims shot up-to 10 times

Nairobi - The bodies of persons killed in the attack on the Garissa University College are riddled with bullets, some up to ten.
Most of the bodies that arrived at the Garissa Hospital Thursday morning had up-to as many as 10 bullet wounds, which meant that the attackers simply opened fire on any person they saw during the attack.
So far 15 persons have been confirmed dead in the attack, including four security personnel, according to hospital authorities.
" 10 bullet wounds in bodies means that the attackers were indiscriminate. They simply shot at a moving target until it stopped, security expert Nelson Simiyu told News24.
" It seems that they were also heavily armed and had artillery to last them a long time," he added.
The attack took place just before dawn as the attackers launched a vicious attack on the university hostels which house up-to as many as 1000 students.
It was not yet confirmed how many students are among the dead but a policeman who did not want to be named as he is not allowed to speak on behalf of the force said that of the 15 dead, 11 are students.
" They are students. Boys and girls. It is a sad sight," he told News24.
It is also expected that the number of dead will rise much higher.
" The death toll will rise. There are sections of the hostels yet to be accessed. It will be high," he added.
