Gang attack leaves 1 dead

One person was hacked to death at Nalondo Market in Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County when a gang of unknown people struck him homestead on Friday night.
The wife of the deceased man, identified as George Masinde a former clerk of the defunct Bungoma County Council, was also critically injured by the machete-wielding thugs that struck at a few minutes before 9PM.
According to residents, the unknown gangsters said to be comprising over of 10 people stormed the homestead when the family was preparing to have supper.
They slashed the head of the home with pangas after locking up the children in the kitchen, then left after ensuring he was dead; they stole nothing.
The home is hardly 100 Metres from the Nalondo D.O's office that has an A.P post.
The attack reminiscent of the killings that were reported in other parts of Bungoma between April and May has left residents with a lot of unanswered questions.
Simiyu Mutaki, a local political activist from the area, condemned the incident and called for increased police patrols.
