Nairobi - The Agikuyu Council of Elders, the Agikuyu professionals and the religious leaders under the auspices of GEMA in the Rift Valley region has castigated recent sentiments by former Ndaragwa legislature Jeremiah Kioni that the Jubilee pact on leadership would not be honoured.
Through its regional chairman John Njoroge Kariuki famously known as Bomasu, the association reiterated the need for political leaders to preach peace amongst communities in Kenya and distance themselves from reckless statements.
“We as elders, professionals and religious leaders under the auspices of GEMA in the Rift region are offended by recent statement by former Ndargwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and we condemn the reckless statement to the latter,” said Bomasu.
The group has vowed to strengthen initiatives meant and geared towards preaching peace among the communities living in the Rift Valley region.
At the same time, the association has also called for dismissal of the ICC cases arguing that as per the witnesses stand and statements, there were no substantial cases against President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Rutto and former Kass FM journalist Joshua Sang.
