From politics to music: Former PM featured in new track

08 April 2014, 13:26 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi - The former Prime Minister of the republic of Kenya, Raila Odinga has been featured in a track called Kuna Vijana.

The track, composed and written by O-mae, one of the fastest rising artists in the country, features an excerpt of a speech Raila made addressing the issues of drugs and alcoholism in the society.

Kuna vijana wengine akiamka asubuhi, pombe ndio anaangalia. Anaamka asubuhi, bangi (there are some young people who start drinking the moment they step out of bed; they smoke bhang the monent they step out of bed),” are the lines used in this new hit track from Agwambo’s speech.

O-mae is on a roll with his music after the recent release of the his hit track LupitaNyongo, which hit the airwaves hard after its release, which just happen to concur with her winning an Oscar award.

In this new track, O-mae does the excerpt justice, naming what will eventually be a hit track.

He asks the youth to lay off the drugs and instead be more productive to their societies. The mixing of the track with the vocal excerpt is well done, with a heavy beat and enough rhymes to float a ship on.

The track isn’t short of mentions either, from LupitaNyongo to Sauti Sol and even Huddah Monroe and Mustapha.
