Free washrooms will reduce stress

Heads of department in Imenti south district have resolved to contribute money towards the construction of adequate washrooms within the district headquarters along with fencing the entire compound to enhance security.
This resolution was made following concerns raised by the local district officer 1 Peter Thiong’o that officers working within the district headquarters and members of the public seeking services from the areas were undergoing a lot of stress due to lack of the washrooms.
Thiong’o noted that washrooms were an essential public facility adding that a lot of office time was being wasted under the cover that an officer was out of office in search the facility within Nkubu market.
He noted that people were being compelled to walk all the way to the main matatu stage so as to use the council washrooms at a cost of KES 5.
The administrator urged heads of department to promptly contribute the KES 3 000 through the district accountant to oversee the construction of free washrooms.
He added that the work would start immediately and continue as money continued to flow into the district basket.
Thiong’o also pointed out that the need to fence the entire compound has become inevitable saying the security personnel assigned duty within the area were not able to take care of all entrances into the compound.
The district officer regretted that people of bad intentions had taken advantage of the exposed offices leading to the loss of property worth over KES 300 000 from the offices and within the compound.
He said efforts to catch up with the thieves had been fruitless since nobody can be held responsible.
