Four guards charged with murder released on bond

12 November 2014, 11:38 Robert Chepkwony

Nakuru - Four security guards who are facing charges of murdering a herder at the controversial Muthera Farm in Mau Narok, Nakuru County, have been released on bond.

The four, Lesue Sururu, Laanoi Simpiri, Daniel Nkuto and Raiyan Dapash were accused of killing Katoine ole Keshe on October 9, 2014 at the farm belonging to the family of former Cabinet Minister Mbiyu Koinange.

The four accused persons moved to court in a bid to plead for their freedom.

In their submission, the four asked the court to release them on bail pending the hearing and determination of their case.

The Nakuru High Court granted them bail and ordered for their release on a KES 300 000 personal bond.

The court ordered that the case be heard on December 19.

On October 13, the four were remanded after State Counsel Nelly Ngovi asked Resident Judge Anyara Emukule not to allow the four to plea to the charges until the police complete their investigations.
