31 May 2013, 16:41
Four people - two drug traffickers, a driver and a conductor - were on Thursday arrested with 63 Kg of bhang valued at KES 63 000.
The four were arrested at the road block on the Migori - Sirare highway by traffic Policemen.
The Police Officers became suspicious when they discovered a luggage concealed in polythene bag and then covered with powdered detergent.
The bag was then sprayed with perfume to do away with the bhang's scent.
According to Migori OCPD Alfred Makoma, the four are being held at Migori Police station waiting to be arraigned in court once Police gather enough evidence.
In the recent past, Police have seized several stones of bhang in transit within Migori County.
It is suspected that the drugs originated from the neighbouring Tanzania where it is commonly grown.
