Four British soldiers hurt as plane crashes in Mt. Kenya

Nyeri - Four British army soldiers escaped death Thursday night after a plane that they had boarded crash-landed at Gathiuru area, Kieni constituency in Mount Kenya forest.
The four, three men and one woman, were rushed to Nanyuki cottage hospital for treatment.
A soldier who spoke on grounds of anonymity as he is not allowed to address the press said they were on a routine flight training from their Nanyuki training school, British Army Training Kenya (BATUK), when the plane crash-landed in the forest after developing mechanical problems.

A contingent of other British soldiers, Kenya police officers and Kenya Forest Service rangers were immediately deployed to guard the plane and secure the place.
"A team of technicians from Britain will conduct investigations over the matter," he observed, adding that technicians will examine the plane on Saturday before removing it from the forest.
