Former Cricket star Odumbe in rehab
24 February 2015, 12:44
Nairobi - A few months after a feature was done on
the squalid life of one of Kenya’s biggest cricket stars Maurice Odumbe, and
his addiction to drugs, a few of his friends have managed to get him to a rehab
centre for treatment.
The cricket star made his debut in
1990 in a match against Bangladesh, immediately sky rocketing to the top of the
Kenyan roster. He was however banned from the sport for allegedly taking money
from book makers in 2004 for 5 years, making an attempt at returning to the
sport aged 40.
His life after this massive fall from grace
had been in shambles until Robert Ruale and Heshan De Silva stepped in to give
him a second chance in life. They have just released a video which was shot
yesterday when they were taking the fallen star to a rehab centre in Ridgeways
here in Nairobi for treatment.
They are asking people to show their love and
support for the former cricketing legend by sending contributions to MPESA :
PAYBILL : 888350 : ACCOUNT : MAURICE ODUMBE. Check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgnQCa6FR5k
