Former Councilor charged for plotting to kill MCA

Siaya - A former Councilor of the defunct Siaya County Council and his two accomplices were Friday charged for plotting to kill a Member of the Siaya County Assembly (MCA).
The former councilor, Fredrick Onyango and two brothers, Jackton and Emmanuel Ambuga, were charged that on September 7, 2013 they jointly plotted to kill Stephen Ouma Kadera, the MCA for Ugenya West Ward who is also the deputy Speaker of the Siaya County Assembly.
The trio appeared in a Ukwala court in Siaya County before Principal Magistrate, Paul Owanda.
The prosecution said the accused had plotted to kill the complainant at his home at Bonde village in Ugenya sub-County.
The magistrate allowed the two to be released on a cash bail of KES 2 million each or a bond of KES 5 million.
The case will be hard on July 21, 2014.
