Nairobi - Manoah Esipisu, the State House Spokesperson, has assured relatives of the Westgate terror attack victims that the ongoing forensic investigation at the mall will help identify nationalities of both victims and attackers trapped in debris.
Addressing the press at Westgate, Esipisu said that so far they have not gotten the exact number of hostages killed in the terror attack despite Al-Shabaab comments that their 'Mujahideen attackers perished with 173 hostages'.
"I cannot confirm to you the exact number of hostages who perished in the terror attack, and we hopefully expect the results from forensic experts on the ground thereafter communicate to you," said Esipisu.
"The experts are from both local and international agencies including the American FBI who will help identify nationalities of citizens and terrorists trapped in the collapsed mall," he added.
Esipisu cautioned both the media and the public against giving misleading speculations concerning the number of hostages who perished in the mall until official report is relayed.
He further said the government will stand firm in fighting terrorism acts by 'coward attackers' threatening the peace of citizens.
