Ford Kenya to conduct digital registration of members

11 May 2015, 10:20 Ben Wafula

Bungoma - Ford Kenya party is set to kick off registration of new members using the digital platform, where a person willing to join the party will have to send a phone message to a number that will be unveiled in a fortnight.

The party Secretary General, Dr. Eseli Simiyu disclosed that they have put in place all measures and will start recruiting new members using the digital platform which is very easy and will help the party to also get money to help with its campaigns to popularize it countrywide.

Speaking over the Weekend while officially opening the County Ford Kenya party offices in Kanduyi, Dr. Eseli said that the party is popular in Bungoma County and they are set to recruit more members across the country so that they can have the bargaining power in 2017.

The Tongaren Mp said that by having a strong political vehicle, they can be able to have the highest bargaining power with other strong parties to land into lucrative government positions in 2017.

His sentiments were echoed by Ford Kenya party leader, Moses Wetang’ula who said that by registering members electronically, they will be able to get many new members easier.

He said that they will also open more offices across the country but will first start with the four counties where they control a large crowd.

“By opening many offices, we will have a touch with the common mwananchi who will join us as we plan to take the leadership of this country in 2017,” he said.

The Bungoma Senator said that through the digital registration, FK party will regain its former glory and called on many people to join the party saying it is the only political vehicle with a bright future in Western region counties.

He also revealed that he will be launching the party website in a month’s time so they can be able to communicate with members and those willing to join it.

Bungoma County FK Chairman and Kanduyi Mp, Wafula Wamunyinyi noted that by opening up the County offices, they will be able to welcome back members who had left for other parties.

“We are a democratic party which offers space to any mwananchi willing to join and work with us because the party is now rejuvenated with new officials at its helm,” said Wamunyinyi.

Other leaders present were Kabuchai Mp James Lusweti, Nominated Mp Patrick Wangamati among other leaders.
